Crisp has acted as a strategic-intelligence consultant for private contractors and government on national security—providing research, advice, and analysis on security matters. 

The CEO of Empowerment Enterprises, Inc. a Washington, D.C. based consulting company. Ms. Crisp’s portfolio includes advising with the Dept. of Homeland Security’s Science & Technology Directorate on federal anti-human trafficking foundational efforts; applying models to develop risk analysis and support risk management decisions around the topic of human trafficking; mediating with special federal agents at the Dept. of Homeland Security, the FBI, and state and local law enforcement agencies on anti-human trafficking efforts; and co-founder of COAST (Club Operators Against Sex Trafficking). 

Crisp was a 2015 Homeland Security Director’s Service Award Nominee, meeting the mandates of the White House and Congress, in the battle against human trafficking. 

She was a Psychiatric Assessment Specialist at a major metropolitan hospital for the Chair of Psychiatry, helping test and implement mental health based software. She is a past Vice Chair on the board of directors for the PACE Center for Girls. Crisp earned her B.A. in psychology from Ursuline College, graduating Summa cum Laude, and her M.S. from George Washington University’ Graduate School of Political Management, receiving the Henry D. Paley Award for outstanding academic achievement with a valedictorian distinction. 

She attended Exeter College, University of Oxford, U.K. and the London School of Journalism. During her childhood, she was a ward of the court and foster child. She is a human trafficking survivor. (Although she prefers the term ‘thriver’.)
