Show Notes Today we are chatting with Larry Kesslin, entrepreneur and philosopher of life. Larry writes this… “My life changed in 2012 during a trip to Africa. I went there to bring computers to rural villages in eastern and northern Uganda, but what I found was something much deeper. I met people who had very little in a material way, yet they were joyful, connected, and full of purpose. “Their way of living opened my eyes and made me rethink everything I believed about success and happiness. Show Notes #400 Ash Perrow: Working from the Heart Today with my guest Ash Perrow, I release my 400th podcast episode. When I began this project, I had no idea where this journey would lead — only that I felt called to speak, reflect, and explore what matters most. Very few podcasts ever reach 400 episodes. I read that fewer than 1% of all podcasts reach 400 episodes. The real milestone, however, isn’t the number of shows. It’s the conversations, the growth, and the community that has formed along the way. At this time, I especially want to thank you for listening and thinking with me....

Have you ever wondered about what it is that draws (especially) intelligent people to join a cult? Well, today we’re about to find out.
We will learn first-hand from our very special guest, Radhia Gleis, who was an elder for 25 years in a cult called The Buddha-field.
As a young woman… Radhia went on a quest for to discover nirvana and found herself entangled in a destructive cult. Now, for anyone tempted to judge cult followers as weak-minded and gullible, Radhia has a new book that will certainly shatter those assumptions.
In her new book titled The Followers, she explores the common traits, as well as common needs, that every human being possesses. And, almost ironically, it is in these very common needs that cult leaders find their prey.
Radhia has a message for all of us… to understand… as well as be wary of.
PLEASE NOTE: This episode was so informative and fun that we had to break it into two shows. Be prepared to catch Part II in just a couple days, where Radhia shares what she learned and what we can lean.
Please check out Radhia’s book. The Followers: “Holy Hell” and the Disciples of Narcissistic Leaders: How My Years in a Notorious Cult Parallel Today’s Cultural Mania.
