Show Notes I planned and prepared for our podcast today. And come showtime I was ready to roll. One problem: Exactly at showtime, there was no guest to be found. Who knows why? Instead of just cancelling the studio time, I made a quick call to Terry Hershey who immediately said, “What are friends for? Let’s do the show!” So, here we are with a fun show. No prep. Little direction. Just a title from a Krista Tippett quote: “We plan… and things go wrong.” LINKS Click here for a link to get a copy Terry’s book, . Show Notes Today, I want to chat with Terry Hershey about a subject that I have been pondering and journaling on for several months. The subject is, how you might Manage Your Fate. NOTE: However, we begin the show with a detailed conversation about Burnout. On to Managing Fate… Think of your life as an ongoing process of becoming. In my mind, two primary factors influence everything that happens in your life. Fate and Choice. Fate represents all that you cannot control in life. (Or think you cannot control). And… Choice manages the impacts of that fate and...

Show Notes Hi All, Our discussion today is about one of my very favorite subjects: Creativity. We will delve into the questions: Are you a Creative and if you are, what might a Creative Process look like? Our special guest today is author, speaker, and popular musician Rich Kirkpatrick. Show Notes A common subject these days has to do with the trauma… and how each of us has experienced some kind of trauma in our past and, unfortunately for many, it is still a very present reality. A theme I have been working on for a couple of years now, is that each of us is an amalgamation of who we have been and what we have experienced in our past. And very often, that past continues to slip into our present making, us prey for our demons of our past. What if we could find a way to manage and deal with negative events of our past that we could possibly we could live freer...

Typically, at this point in the introduction, it’s not uncommon for me to say how much I am looking forward to the show. And it is always the truth. However, today is different. I am really looking forward to this show Our guest speaks the same spiritual language that I do: one of meditation, silence, and deep contemplation on the verities of life. Only our guest speaks another dialect.
Nora D’Ecclesis is a Zen Buddhist master, with special expertise in practicing the annual tradition of Zen Rohatsu, which is the title of her most recent book. Her book, Zen Rohatsu serves as a backstory of “Why… we meditate, live mindfully and have a spiritual practice.”
At this point in the introduction, I would normally offer up an overview of Nora’s accomplishments. But as is typical with those in humble spiritual practices, Nora is quite private. It’s almost impossible to even find what we might consider a bio or resume. Nora lets her work speak for itself.
I can say this: For more than three decades Nora has been devoted to her spiritual practice as well as leading retreats, guiding individuals, and writing books. Nora has authored at least 14 books, at least 2 of which have been Amazon bestsellers, including the book we will discuss today, Zen Rohatsu.
