Steve Turek from the Diecast Movie Podcast helped Derek this week when the Monsters in the Machine tried to stage a revolt and hid the audio files he needed for this week's episode. Fortunately, not only did Steve spend a few minutes with Derek for a chat about Halloween (and Conan AGAIN), but we have Mark Matzke's Beta Capsule Review and another visit from Dr. Tongue so all is not lost!

This week's movie might have had several different names, but it stars the one and only Bela Lugosi! We're calling it My Son, the Vampire (dir. John Gilling) here on Monster Kid Radio this week when Taylor Gentry joins Derek to talk about this Lugosi . . . comedy? And if that's not enough, Kenny's Look at Famous Monsters of Filmland also tackles the film! Monster Kid Radio

One of Derek's favorite things about producing Monster Kid Radio is when he gets to watch a new-to-him monster movie. That is exactly what happened this week when author David Annandale returns to the podcast with The Flesh Eaters (dir. Jack Curtis). There are so many elements coming together in this movie - the creator of DC Comics' Doom Patrol, a "Speed Racer" voice actor, an actor with a decidedly German accent believably playing an American, mad science, creatures, and shocking blood.

More Episodes

Scott and Tracey Morris from Disney, Indiana are back on Monster Kid Radio, and it's all true. I swear by my tattoo . . . that they're going to talk with Derek about the 1954 film 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea (dir. Richard Fleischer). This is a Disney classic, but it's also Monster Kid Radio fodder, and as you listen to Derek, Scott and Tracey talk about the film, you'll find out why. Also in this episode, Derek speaks with writer/musician/podcaster Keith Foster about Kodoja, a comic book filled to the giant gills with kiaju action and destruction. There's a Kickstarter campaign right now to collect the first five issues of the series in a nice hardcover edition, and Keith's going to tell us about the rewards you can get while making this hardcover a reality.
