Craig DeRoche On Men In Women’s Sports And Growing Conservative Culture

Bookworm Room's Podcast

Release Date: 08/19/2026

When I had the opportunity to interview Craig DeRoche, the president and CEO of Family Policy Alliance (“FPA”), a Christian-based political and cultural advocacy organization, I jumped at it. That’s because Craig is someone who, for decades, has been working to keep America a constitutional and moral nation in a very broken time.

Craig started in public life serving in the Michigan House of Representatives, eventually becoming Speaker of the House at 34. After leaving elected office and following a battle with substance abuse and a period of incarceration, Craig found God, turned his life around, and became deeply involved in criminal-justice reform.

His work in criminal-justice reform included serving as president of Justice Fellowship, the organization founded by Chuck Colson, and later as a senior vice president with Prison Fellowship. Craig also served on the Charles Colson Task Force on Federal Corrections, which examined ways to improve the federal prison system.

More recently, much of his work at the FPA has focused on some of America’s most contentious cultural and legal issues. In this podcast, using the FPA’s work on getting boys and men out of girls’ and women’s sports, we discussed what the FPA is doing to help change the political and cultural scene in America.

I thoroughly enjoyed the interview, and I hope you will, too.
