The Freethinking Podcast
In this episode, we take a closer look at some of the skeptical theories of knowledge (if it's accurate to call them that). We talk about pure skepticism and weaker forms of skepticism, and see that it likely isn't a live option, particularly for the Christian, to maintain such a strong form of skepticism.

In the second episode in our series discussing epistemology, we take a look at two opposing views on the nature of justification: internalism and externalism. I lay out what each of these views looks like and place it in the broader context of the epistemological project. Fun ep!

No, those two topics are not related, but Tim and I start out this podcast talking about the Gina Carano controversy. If you're not interested in that, feel free to skip to about the 10 minute mark for our discussion on epistemology. In these next couple of episodes, I'll be laying out some various views and problems in epistemology that I learned about while attending my first semester in my master's program. This episode introduces the topics and talks about my general experience in school so far.

I know, I know, we have not done a podcast in awhile. And by that I mean our last episode was August 27th of 2020! There's no real interesting story as to why we took such a long break, other than the fact that I (Scott) started my M.A. in Philosophy and Tim published a book. As it turns out, this takes up a lot of time. Well, fortunately (or perhaps unfortunately) for you all, we have come back from our extended hiatus well-rested and ready to talk some more apologetics and theology with you wonderful folks. Or I suppose more accurately, AT you wonderful folks. In this episode, Tim and I...

Dr. Kelly Fitzsimmons Burton is an epistemologist (a philosopher who studies knowledge) who has authored the books "Reason and Proper Function" and "Retrieving Knowledge: A Socratic Response to Skepticism." Tim Stratton believes her work in epistemology has strengthened his FreeThinking Argument and also provides a platform to speak about what we can KNOW and how we should think about the cultural issues of our day.

"Black lives matter." That statement is objectively true, but the organization that goes by that name is evil. Monique Duson used to support the organization but now seeks to replace BLM with the Center for Biblical Unity. Check out the Center for Biblical Unity here: https://www.centerforbiblicalunity.com/

Who is "The Wintery Knight"? He's often referred to as the "Batman" of Christian Apologetics. This is the case because hardly anybody has seen his face unmasked or knows his true identity. One thing we do know is that despite the name "Wintery" he is a person of color. Be that as it may, he loves America and opposes the Marxist revolution growing in our society. info_outlineAs we continue commenting on the Big Think video, what became apparent to us is that Mr. Aslan desperately wants the reason why Donald Trump was elected to have nothing to do with Hillary Clinton. But, as we talk about in this episode, his election was much more about how bad of a candidate Hillary Clinton was than anything to do with Trump’s merits.
In fact, one could even say that Donald Trump’s best quality in this recent election was his ability to not be Hillary Clinton. The idea that most evangelicals voted for him for any other reason other than to stop Hillary Clinton just does not seem to be very plausible. Tim and I say as much in the podcast.
