Next, Joseph cites Hebrews 12:22 to emphasize that there are countless angels, noting that if Jesus had chosen to call on them, God would have honored that. He explains that angels witnessed Jesus’ suffering for our sake; for, being in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death, even on a cross. As a result, God exalted Him and gave Him a name above all others, so that at the name Jesus, every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to God's glory.
Joseph then describes how Jesus’ radical obedience earned our salvation, affirming that Jesus is Lord because of His sacrifice on the cross, which the angels witnessed. This fosters reverence for Him among angels. He discusses the rules for engaging angels on our behalf: we must be in a covenant with God through Jesus Christ, understand that God’s word is crucial for calling on angels, act on what we know, dedicate ourselves to worship, and be mindful of how we live. He stresses that aligning ourselves with God’s purpose and our divine assignments, as well as spending time with the Holy Spirit through worship, prayer, and speaking God’s word in faith, will attract angelic help.
