info_outlineIn this episode I talk about how you can't override your subconscious programming from a conscious declaration or resolution alone. You have to meet your body and your subconscious where it is, and show up with the consistency and patience and love required to help it feel safe. Like one of those stories of an adopted shelter dog you see on Instagram. They come home traumatized and distrusting. But over time, if they receive consistent reinforcement that they're now safe and loved, they start to believe it. It's the same with us. We gotta be consistently loving, compassionate and 1000 leagues easier on ourselves if we want to shift our fear-based patterns.
Recently I've reached an energetic turning point that only I can feel or affirm for myself. I can tell in the ways I'm responding differently to myself when I'm triggered or anxious. Far from perfect, but I see lots of progress. And I talk about what lead to solidifying this turning point - how I cultivated a felt sense of safety in my body and then reinforced it day after day after day, until my body actually began to believe and trust that it was safe.
