Learn all about:

●      Bafor’s background, growing up in Africa and getting into Schlumberger Oil and traveling throughout the world to over 30 countries.

●      How even with a full-time “mega” career, Bafor then took a big risk to start a business, a restaurant called Wings & Wine.

●      The qualities that Bafor sought in his business partners, how he capitalized his business, how he reduced or mitigated risk with partners and planning.

Bafor’s quotes:

On when to have the courage to start a business:

●      “There is no such thing as the right moment, only the right mindset”

●      “The thing about opportunity is it's all around us. The difference between who takes charge of that opportunity is focus.”

On being too busy to pursue your dreams:

●      “It’s important to notice between work and life, it happens: the clock keeps ticking. It doesn't stop. [You] have to figure out a way to make work a part of your life, and your life a part of your work."

●      “And that's kind of one of the reasons that I decided to take the lead to do something for myself that was mine to build from scratch. And to create the time to do it.”

What was your catalyst moment to start a restaurant?

·       “It’s the realization that there is no ‘right moment.’ There is only a right mindset.”

·       “The right moment doesn't really exist. Any moment in time, you can find a 1,000 reasons not to do it.”

·       What you need is a commitment in your mind that whatever journey you're going to take, you'll make the best of it.

On how to take a risk :

·       “What I say to my team is that if we have an impossible target, swing for the fences. It is as simple as that. If you connect, you have a home run. If you don't, you might get one base or two. If you don't swing, you are for sure going to strike out.”

. . . and so many more life lessons!

Three take aways or golden nuggets from Angie:

1.     Want to start a business or a side hustle or passion? He could do it, and so could you! If you try to wait for the perfect moment, it may never happen. Remember that it is all about your mindset: “thoughts become beliefs becomes behaviors.” Busy professionals find the time to do the things that matter most!

2.     What I love about Wings and Wine is that it has great food and wine—and truffle fries - - but it’s also a place for conversation and to connect about similarities.  Bafor was able to build that global intention to make the world a better place into his side hustle.

3.     The final thing take away is that pursuing your passion and taking a risk is all about commitment and focus. You have more than it takes to pursue your dreams, you just need to commit to do it.
