The Sackhoff Show

Hi Everyone! What better way to celebrate the holidays than having a conversation about space? If you love science— or if you’re like me and you find it overwhelming— you’re going to really enjoy this episode! Neil deGrasse Tyson has made a career out of teaching everyday people about the extraordinary true story of the universe. He has a new book out called Just Visiting This Planet, Revised and Updated for the Twenty-First Century: Further Scientific Adventures of Merlin from Omniscia, which I read and loved. In the book, Tyson plays a slightly snarky, all-knowing character named...

He is also playing Palladin in the upcoming VisionQuest from creator Terry Matalas. Todd is a brilliant actor and a true nerd and we have so much fun in this conversation. We talk about how he got from doing comedy at Second City to playing killers on TV. We get into what it was like growing up as a nerd and the pinch-me experience of...

The Sackhoff Show

Hi everyone, happy Tuesday! You didn’t think I could keep Michael Trucco away for long, did you? The last time I had Michael on the show, it was audio-only, so if you’ve been dying to see his beautiful face, today’s your lucky day! I first met Michael on Battlestar where he played Samuel T. Anders, but we have stayed close over the years. As an actor, he has been on a role recently— you may have seen him as Sean Del Monte in The Rookie, Luke Leone on Fire Country, or in one of Mike Flanagan’s recent projects, from Life of Chuck, to Fall of the House of Usher, to Midnight Mass. Why is...

Happy Tuesday! I have been looking forward to interviewing this week’s guest for a long time and I am so happy we were finally able to get him on the show. This week I’m talking with none other than Skeet Ulrich! I have been a fan of Skeet’s work since he played Billy Loomis in Scream and Chris Hooker in The Craft. You may also know him from Riverdale, where he played FP Jones, or from roles in As Good As It Gets, Jericho, Law & Order: LA and many others. He is one of those actors that is able to make you absolutely fall in love with his characters, even ones that are twisted or a...

The Sackhoff Show

Hey everyone! This week’s episode is a repost of a live episode we did over on my Patreon. I was recently told I HAD to watch the new documentary The Age of Disclosure all about UFOs and UAPs, so I thought I’d grab the two middle-aged men I know that will always talk to me about aliens, my producer Jeph Porter and my friend Kristian Harloff. So if you want to know my thoughts on the film, check this one out. Jeph and I also do a little AMA at the end. If you want me to answer your questions or you want to be a part of these live streams, head over to patreon.com/thesackhoffshow and join...

Ernie Hudson Knew Ghostbusters Was Something Special show art Ernie Hudson Knew Ghostbusters Was Something Special

The Sackhoff Show

Hi everyone, Happy Tuesday! This year, I dressed up as the Marshmallow Man for Halloween, so it’s only fitting that I have Ernie Hudson on the show this week! Ernie famously played Winston Zeddmore in Ghostbusters. He has also appeared in many, many other projects, including films like The Crow, Airheads and Miss Congeniality and on TV on Oz, Grace and Frankie, LA’s Finest and most recently as L. C. Duncan in The Family Business. It was such an honor to sit down with Ernie and we immediately got along. We talk about his childhood and the emotional moment last year when the street he grew...

Plus, Katee gets the updates from Paul about the new season of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Paul shares his contribution to the design of the patches on Carson Teva’s bomber jacket. Stick around for an AMA with Paul and Katee, with questions about the 501st, cosplay, Stephen King and who would (and wouldn’t) play a vampire. The Sackhoff Show

Happy Tuesday, Everyone! I can’t believe it’s taken this long, but this week I am finally talking to my friend and Battlestar legend James Callis! On Battlestar, James played Dr. Gaius Baltar. He is also known for playing best friend Tom in the Bridget Jones’ Diary movies, as well as appearances in Star Trek: Picard, 12 Monkeys, Arrow and most recently as Claude Whelan in Slow Horses. James was an intimidating person for me to interview — he’s so smart about acting (and about everything else) and he plays a really good bad guy— but in this conversation, you get to see his goofy...

The Sackhoff Show

Hi everyone, this week we have a Halloween surprise for you! My producer Jeph and I are rewatching Mike Flanagan’s 2013 horror film Oculus, which I starred in. Grab some popcorn and candy and get ready for some southern gothic scares. I haven't seen this movie in over a decade, so it was a lot of fun to sit down and try to remember what happened. Jeph had never seen it, so he was coming in blind! For this audio companion, Jeph and I introduce the movie and talk through some behind the scenes stories about the rest of the cast, which included Karen Gillan, Brenton Thwaites, Kate Siegel and...

More Episodes

Happy Tuesday, everyone! Today’s episode was such a blast. I’m talking with none other than the amazing Alan Tudyk! Alan is currently starring as Harry Vanderspeigle in the new season of Resident Alien. He also plays K-2SO in Andor, Hoban ‘Wash’ Washburne in Firefly, Wat in A Knight’s Tale and so so many iconic voice roles, including Valentino in Wish and the Duke of Weselton in Frozen. We have so much fun in this conversation and I loved learning more about Alan’s journey from doing stand-up in a Holiday Inn, to Juilliard dropout, to working with some of the biggest names in Sci-Fi. Plus, we get to bond over our experience in the Star Wars universe and what it’s like to be be part of a franchise that fans desperately want to revive (Battlestar for me, Firefly for him). Be sure to stick around after the conversation for the Hindsight, where I get together with my producer Jeph to talk over the episode, talk about upcoming convention appearances and answer fan questions from the Mail Sack!
