Ernie Hudson Knew Ghostbusters Was Something Special show art Ernie Hudson Knew Ghostbusters Was Something Special

The Sackhoff Show

Hi everyone, Happy Tuesday! This year, I dressed up as the Marshmallow Man for Halloween, so it’s only fitting that I have Ernie Hudson on the show this week! Ernie famously played Winston Zeddmore in Ghostbusters. He has also appeared in many, many other projects, including films like The Crow, Airheads and Miss Congeniality and on TV on Oz, Grace and Frankie, LA’s Finest and most recently as L. C. Duncan in The Family Business. It was such an honor to sit down with Ernie and we immediately got along. We talk about his childhood and the emotional moment last year when the street he grew...

James Callis Talks Battlestar, Gaius Baltar and Why Playing Bad Guys is Fun show art James Callis Talks Battlestar, Gaius Baltar and Why Playing Bad Guys is Fun

The Sackhoff Show

Happy Tuesday, Everyone! I can’t believe it’s taken this long, but this week I am finally talking to my friend and Battlestar legend James Callis! On Battlestar, James played Dr. Gaius Baltar. He is also known for playing best friend Tom in the Bridget Jones’ Diary movies, as well as appearances in Star Trek: Picard, 12 Monkeys, Arrow and most recently as Claude Whelan in Slow Horses. James was an intimidating person for me to interview — he’s so smart about acting (and about everything else) and he plays a really good bad guy— but in this conversation, you get to see his goofy...

Katee Watched Oculus for the First Time in Over a Decade show art Katee Watched Oculus for the First Time in Over a Decade

The Sackhoff Show

Hi everyone, this week we have a Halloween surprise for you! My producer Jeph and I are rewatching Mike Flanagan’s 2013 horror film Oculus, which I starred in. Grab some popcorn and candy and get ready for some southern gothic scares. I haven't seen this movie in over a decade, so it was a lot of fun to sit down and try to remember what happened. Jeph had never seen it, so he was coming in blind! For this audio companion, Jeph and I introduce the movie and talk through some behind the scenes stories about the rest of the cast, which included Karen Gillan, Brenton Thwaites, Kate Siegel and...

The Sackhoff Show

Happy Spooky Season, Everyone! As many of you know, scary movies freak me out. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love today’s guest! Today I’m talking to a horror icon— Freddy himself, Robert Englund! Robert is beloved for his performance as Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street and its many sequels. He has also had an illustrious career outside of Wes Craven’s franchise, appearing in hundreds of films and TV shows, including a recent appearance as Victor Creel in Stranger Things. On Halloween of this year, he will be immortalized with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and it...

Scene Stealer Steven Ogg on Grand Theft Auto, Walking Dead, Snowpiercer and More show art Scene Stealer Steven Ogg on Grand Theft Auto, Walking Dead, Snowpiercer and More

The Sackhoff Show

Hi Everyone, Happy Tuesday! Today’s guest is none other than Steven Ogg. Steven has created a niche playing characters that are a little (or a LOT) unhinged. He is best known for playing Trevor in Grand Theft Auto. He played Simon in Walking Dead, Pike in Snowpiercer, Rebus on Westworld, Sobchak on Better Caul Saul and many, many others. People see Steven and they think— whoa, this guy’s a little crazy. But the truth is, he is also a super sensitive artist and a real actor’s actor. I had so much fun getting into the weeds and sharing stories about working with directors and his...

It was so much fun to chat with Jon and hear the story behind how he created such an iconic character. We talk about where he learned to dance, how he and the director transformed the story from a student film into a massive hit and what it was like managing such an insane level of overnight...

Charisma Carpenter on Cordelia, Buffy and Fighting For a Safer Hollywood show art Charisma Carpenter on Cordelia, Buffy and Fighting For a Safer Hollywood

The Sackhoff Show

Happy Tuesday, Everyone! Buffy was one of those shows that genuinely inspired me to become an actor. I have been such a fan and admirer of Charisma Carpenter ever since her iconic performance as Cordelia Chase on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel and it was a treat to sit down with her for a longer conversation. And this was a LONG conversation— in fact, we had so much fun talking, we had Charisma come back and record a second day just so I could ask all the questions I had for her! Charisma is passionate about everything she does and her passion is infectious. We talk about hard lessons...

More Episodes

Happy Tuesday, Everyone! This week, I sat down with my new friend Rahul Kohli to chat, while on a break from filming Mike Flanagan’s new show Carrie. In addition to co-starring with me on the new project, Rahul has found so many new fans as a heartthrob in Mike’s other recent shows, including playing Owen in The Haunting of Bly Manor, Sheriff Hassan in Midnight Mass and Leo Usher in The Fall of The House of Usher. You may also know him from his roles as Ravi Chakrabarti in iZombie and Bri in The Life of Chuck, as well as his prolific video game voice work. We had a lot of fun talking about how he fell in love with movies and video games, while growing up as a South Asian kid in the UK and he found his way as an actor without a well-worn path to follow. This conversation really feels like two friends sitting down for coffee, getting real about the life of a working actor— from how to use social media, to embracing insecurity and learning to let go and trust your director. I feel much closer to Rahul after this conversation, and I think you will too! Be sure to stick around after our chat for the Hindsight, where my producer Jeph and I talk about the episode, share details about upcoming live shows and vent about an airplane nemesis!
