Finding Certainty: "H" is for Humility

Every month (on the first Friday of the month), as you may already know, I do a monologue instead of having an interviewee here on Finding Certainty. No dialogue or call-ins. Just yours truly sharing my thoughts and experience on a specific topic (I’ve planned out 26, one for each letter of the alphabet. It's going to take me a couple of years to get through them all). This week, with August being the 8th month of the year, we’re at “H” is for Humility. It seems a little funny, talking about Humility like I’m an expert or something. I’m not, but I do have a few thoughts I’d like to share. In fact, each of the topics I’ve addressed this year have been areas I’m personally working on and trying to improve at myself. Just like last month's topic (Giving), Humility is a subject I think often about and continue to work at daily. Sometimes it’s easy and sometimes it’s not. I have some strong opinions on each of these topics, have learned some powerful (sometimes painful) lessons regarding them, and they’re each something I’m learning a lot about and trying to master in my life. I believe Humility is one of the most fundamental principles and characteristics we’ve all got to master if we want to be truly successful in life, not to mention “find” and develop CERTAINTY in our lives. There are a lot of ways that we can learn humility and, in my experience, when we need it, the Lord is happy to provide reminders.
