Eimear Ryan is from County Tipperary. Her writing has appeared in Granta, The Winter Papers and The Stinging Fly. She is co-founder of the literary journal Banshee and its publishing imprint, Banshee Press. Eimear’s debut novel Holding Her Breath was published by Penguin Sandycove earlier this year. She is the 2021 Writer in Residence at University College Cork. Eimear has been contributing to The Dublin Review since 2014.
