She graduated college, was part of a babysitting co-op, befriended a woman who was, at the time, an unheard of entrepreneur and became a social worker. Dr. Edward Chew: Dr. Edward Jew graduated med school in 1953, served as a Navy medical officer, and completed his residency at what is now UPMC. Continuing a family legacy of doctors, he practiced for 37 years. After losing his wife, he moved to Providence Point, where he stays active, dancing and even skiing at 87! Born in Pittsburgh, Eileen moved to Maryland for better pay and affordable tuition. She and her husband then embarked on an adventurous journey to Colorado for new careers, but family brought them back to Pittsburgh, where she worked at Mount Lebanon for 29 years, cherishing Irish literature. After retiring, they traveled extensively, discovering family in Italy. Even after her husband's passing, his family makes sure to include her in important milestones. Now, Eileen enjoys life at Providence Point, a premier retirement community.
