In August of 1914, in retaliation for President Huartes seizing of three American sailors in a Mexican port town, the US Military sent about 6,000 marines and Navy personnel to estyablish martial law in what was alreaedy a very lawless area in wartorn Mexico.  Jack London was there and witnessed a morning in court presided by a Marine who was assigned to establish law and keep order.  His story provides an accurate picture of what went on at that time in Mexico in 1914, only 110 years ago.   Check out our new website at www.bestof1001stories.com!
