info_outline“You'll hear me in later episodes get bitter and jaded a bit about podcasting and the podcasting space. But these messages, this feedback, hearing from listeners, hearing from people who are finding the podcast and who are finding the podcast helpful, that, that is what keeps me coming back to the microphone over and over again, creating podcasts, wanting to help people create podcasts. In This Episode:
-
Welcome to this bonus episode! Recorded 6 months since my hysterectomy and (spoiler alert, if it wasn’t already obvious) I consider it a major success!
-
Sharing some listener feedback and answering listener questions.
-
Questions answered: What did I have removed? Did I have to quit using pot a week before the surgery?
-
Ah! So you’re checking the show notes to see what happens to an egg after ovulation? Here you go: “If your ovaries are left in place after your hysterectomy, they’ll continue to function as usual. This means they’ll continue to release hormones and eggs, although you might have a slight decrease in hormone production. In most cases, when your ovary releases an egg every month, the egg will go into your abdomen and eventually disappear.” (source: https://www.healthline.com/health/womens-health/after-a-hysterectomy-what-fills-the-space#the-eggs)
-
No matter how many times I think I’m on top of my ADHD, a little detail pops up that I’ve missed to remind me “Nope! I’m always going to be your brain’s operating system, babe!”
-
Please know, as a podcaster and creator, your feedback letting me know how much this podcast means to you and how it’s helpful is so motivating. It lets me and other listeners know we’re not alone. This pain isn’t “normal” or “just a bad period,” as many of us have been told countless times by medical professionals.
-
One of the reasons I haven’t been as active on social media or promoting this podcast is because I have to work on it in chunks at a time and then take long breaks in between where I don’t want to dwell on that space I was in during Seasons 1 and 2. This is another reason why I’m so grateful when others talk about the podcast and share it with friends and others going through painful periods and hysterectomies.
-
Did you know that many episodes include Thoughts from Future-Emily from after I’ve had the hysterectomy? Make sure you’re checking the show notes (which is weird to write in these show notes because, well, here you are!)
-
The number of tangents I go off on, lol. But I promise I keep them relevant! If you were to have a drinking game (water perhaps?) for this episode, it would be the number of times I awkwardly laugh and say, “anyway …”
-
One of those tangents happens to be listing a few mistakes I made right after the hysterectomy I regret, so of course I kept it in!
-
Find out when Season 3 is expected!
