In This Episode:
-
I’ve noticed the last few episodes have been pretty dreary, depressing, and full of venting. Though it’s nice to have this creative space to do that, I realized it would be a good idea to try to balance that out. After all, for as much as I have to complain about, I have a lot to be grateful for.
-
I recorded this episode on a whim and it ended up being one of my favorites of the season :)
-
If you’re reading this, I invite you to pick a random number you see and come up with that many things you’re grateful for or that made today even a smidge bit more lovely for you.
-
Getting your hysterectomy soon? I recommend having little moments of “what am I grateful for? What am I looking forward to?”
-
I mentioned finding out about the cost of the operation and you can check out that episode here: Walkie-Walk Around the Blockie-Block to Get Over the Shocky-Shock of the Cost of the Oppy-Op
-
Anyone else grow up watching the movie “Jungle 2 Jungle” and have a complicated relationship with the word “obligation”? Just me? Okie dokie!
-
Another episode, another realization, another chance to say, “And Also This” in an attempt at Radical Acceptance.
Note from Future-Emily:
There’s a part toward the end of this podcast where I think about what my Future Self would say while listening to Past Emily freaking out as much as I seem to do while recording these episodes, but as I write this (seven months post-op), I’ve grown to have so much compassion and sympathy for Pre-Op Emily. The anxiety is nothing to downplay or call “over-reacting” because this surgery is/was a pretty big deal.
