Step ONE: Surrender

Just Give Me The Hem

I’ve been bleeding out for years while no one knew.

I have been holding back the tears

As the pain grew.

I have been fighting back the thoughts

That kept me up.

Some days it was a lot;

I had enough.

I called out for some relief,

And I heard a voice.

It was very clear to see

I had a choice.

Calling me from the shadows,

It was time.

The seed in me was shallow,

But it had a vine.

I believed in something more

But had no clue

That one day on the floor

I’d have breakthrough.

For years the door was shut;

I was trapped.

I didn’t know this kind of love—

Only attacks.

Seeking for an answer,

Anything to heal,

Anything to numb,

Anything to not feel.

Self-helping in every way

While I searched for truth

Until I heard Jesus say,

"All I need is YOU."

I didn’t need to be clean

Or earn my place.

He said, "Stand up to be seen."

He gave me Grace.

All it took was a moment

Of desperation.

It was then I had to own it—

The separation.

I fought it my whole life,

The path to Him,

Thinking I wasn’t worthy or right,

Full of sin.

Generations of chains

I had to break.

Jesus knew my name

For Heaven’s sake!

I was the woman in the Bible,

Full of blood—

Generations of survival,

Shunned and shoved.

A solution to the suffering

God would send,

If you just had faith enough to touch the hem.

The enemy is lurking,

Full of deceit,

Keeping you searching

So you can’t see.

God requires faith,

The size of a seed.

Turn to Him today—

For rest and relief.

 

In this first episode, I share a part of my personal journey from trauma to triumph, a story of resilience, faith, and divine healing that came one day on the bathroom floor. This episode is a testimony of my first encounter with God and the years to come that birthed Pretty In Praise. 

My past is not my story, my story started with HIM. But, it is clear, I had to go back to the moments when we became separated. 

It was not easy to navigate this story. While I will overthink my delivery with my ums and what I would say differently, I am committed to the process of radical authenticity and give myself Grace on this first episode. 

Being vulnerable is hard but being victorious is worth it!! 

This is a story of resurrection from the ashes, turning chaos into beauty, and transforming pain into praise. Whether you’re on your own healing journey or seeking inspiration, this episode will set the stage for the powerful conversations and transformations to come.

This is just the beginning of what God has shown. We are now a registered 501(c)(3). I hope to bring the word of God to many and also create a safe space for women to heal, hear stories, ask questions, and find their path to a loving God who is awaiting them.
