More Episodes

In this week's episode, I chat with Kimberley Hibert, half of Mr. & Mrs. CEO.

In partnership with her husband Darren, the couple refer to themselves as ‘serial entrepreneurs’ who have built several businesses together over the decades of their marriage. As you'll hear, working with family brings its own set of complex dynamics.

Kimberley shares her backstory of overcoming early financial struggles thanks to her mom's "anything is possible" attitude. She started small with a popcorn business from home while on maternity leave. Darren built his experience working in the family business from a young age.

As their ventures grew, the couple’s daughters and sons joined them. Managing those family-employee relationships introduced messy conflicts.

Kimberley and Darren don't sugarcoat the very real family tensions that arise when relatives work together. But through open communication and self-work, they've made progress. Their book Awkward Family Dinners shares hard-won wisdom on setting boundaries, managing expectations, and more.

This candid glimpse inside their journey reveals why family businesses need a different playbook. Tune in to pick up practical strategies for nurturing both family ties and financial success. You'll also identify areas to reflect on in your own family relationships and leadership.
