After the failure at the box office of Batman and Robin it looked like the popularity of Batman had died. It would take nearly ten years and a whole new team to revive him. Would plunging the Caped Crusader into darkness be the key to success? Christopher Nolan was tasked with the job of bringing this character to life for a whole new generation. info_outlineIt was 1990 something and I was headed to Blockbuster to select a movie for family movie night. My Dad likes action, my Mom likes Kim Basinger, and I like a little bit of everything. I didn’t know anything about Batman. This Butterfly had no history with the character at all; however, there were posters all over the store and I was intrigued. I remember my first impressions of the film were not good. I felt it was too violent for me. I felt empathy for the people of Gotham. Their world was just so dangerous. Maybe it was my age or the lack of context that affected my experience back then. Watching it now to prepare myself for this recording was more fun. I have a lot more experience with the character and the depth of his story now. Please sit back and relax and enjoy the show as The Silver Vox and I celebrate the 35th anniversary of Batman 1989. Are you ready? Let’s dive in!
