info_outlineHuman rights attorney, Qasim Rashid of Virginia, is doing just that. He's facilitating discussions and bringing an oft-missed perspective on many topics like healthcare, religion, and political strategy to the table. The speaker, Qasim Rashid, is a human rights lawyer and activist who is active in the human rights space, takes on immigration clients, racial justice issues, and some corporate litigation as well. He is married and has three children. Qasim shares that he ran for Congress a couple of years ago and had the opportunity to connect with people on a different level. He says that he ran a campaign focused on justice and inclusion and had hardcore right-wing Trump supporters crash his event, trying to disrupt it and leave as supporters. However, he believes that dialogue goes a long way in solving issues, and seeking unity means finding ways to agree on the humanity and inherent value and equality of each of us. The speaker wants people to get to the heart of what is really happening and seek a way to create unity, even if we don't agree on everything.
