info_outlineDragnet was the #1 cop/detective radio show of the 50's and early 60's. Meticulous detail was used to recreate all the background sounds and effects- for instance- they used the actual phones located in the Los Angeles police building to get the sound of the phone ringing- same with footsteps down the hallways. Jack webb starred as Detective Friday and went with the show when it moved to tv and stayed until the late 60's.
