The scammer lives multiple lives and often discards one victim after the other, leaving a trail of destruction. You often find out how much they don't care for you after they are long gone and have ruined your finances. By the time you wake up to the scam, they are already on to the next victim. No one is exempt from this scam, and people who are vulnerable, elderly, successful, and celebrities are often targeted.
