Armor of God Prayer #6 "The Helmet of Salvation."

Dear God,

 

Thank you for my helmet of salvation. It protects my head, my brain, my mind in the daily battle, in this Spiritual Warfare, it keeps me focused on Jesus and eternity.

 

Father God,

 

I live every day in light of eternity and the promised future in heaven with you. This perspective changes HOW I live my daily life.

 

God, I received my salvation and I am redeemed. My salvation has an incredible impact of my present  and not just my future.

 

I know, God, that I can only experience the benefits of my salvation in the present to the extent to which I myself apply the gifts you’ve blessed me with when I received my salvation.

 

Heavenly Father, I know that receiving salvation is NOT the same as applying salvation. Received salvation redeems us and applied salvation restores, shields, and protects us.

 

God, the present-tense effectiveness of my salvation is in my justification and sanctification.

 

Christ died on the cross for ME. Because of HIS actions, my actions don’t count, I have been justified, my debt is paid, I am free from sin and guilt, I am at peace, I am new, I have a second chance, you’ve given me the fresh start, nothing is weighing me down because any and all of my mistakes, failures, faults - all have been paid. (Romans 5:9)

 

Christ lives through me. I am becoming more Christ-LIKE. On my journey of sanctification, you’re teaching me, God, how to be like Jesus as you’re preparing me for my eternity. Through this process of sanctification, God, you are transforming my mind, will, and emotions - my soul.

 

God, my JUSTIFICATION happened in the past. Jesus died for me and paid off all my debts. My glorification is in the future, where I will be in heaven with you. And my sanctification is my daily living in your name, God. That’s what I know about my salvation. My salvation today is my journey of sanctification, becoming more Christ-like. Thanks for teaching me, God.

 

Father God, I know my salvation’s power.

 

Salvation’s rescuing power - Christ rescued me from my flesh and sin.

 

And salvation’s restoring power - Christ who lives through me restores me from my past and makes me new and transformed.



Salvation enables me to lead a whole, healthy life, not a life fractured by the Enemy’s deceptive schemes.

 

God, I am confidently walking from my justification toward my glorification through my sanctification. And I thank you for the journey.

 

God, I am inspired by your blessings. I am aspired to live the life that’s of your glory.

 

I am motivated to take bold, focused, consistent, massive action in your name, God, to do well with the blessings I received from you, the lavish and boundless inheritance.

 

God, I know for a fact that my mindset, my lifestyle, and my daily choices as your daughter, a royal child, all are based on my wealthy scripture-income status.

 

God, with that, I have your peace, your infinite intelligence, your endless kindness, unconditional love, and your ability to plan and execute greatness.

 

My salvation is my liberation!

 

My salvation must not only be RECEIVED but also APPLIED.

 

God, I understand that as the man thinks so is he (Proverbs 23:7). And so I choose my thoughts carefully. I submit my thoughts to your truth, your word, the Gospel.

My heavenly father, I know from Isaiah 26:3-4 that “You will keep whoever's mind is steadfast in perfect peace” so I trust you, God. My mind is steadfast, focused on eternity, and trusts your promises. God, you protect with the helmet of salvation MY SOUL: my mind (thoughts), my will (ambition), my emotions (feelings), and my conscience (moral compass).

 

God, you gave me the helmet of salvation but without proactively putting it on and working out my salvation, I have a mind that’s unprotected, unshielded, and vulnerable to Satan’s assault.

 

So, I rehearse every day, God, who I am in Christ:

 

  1. I am forgiven
  2. I am accepted
  3. I am renewed
  4. I am healed
  5. I am loved
  6. I am righteous
  7. I am blessed
  8. I am anointed
  9. I am beautiful
  10. I am free
  11. I am worthy
  12. I am valuable
  13. I am holy
  14. I am alive

  3. I am fearfully and wonderfully made
  4. I am a citizen of heaven
  5. I am a child of God
  6. I am noble and lovely

  11. I am God’s glory on display
  12. I am light
  13. I am a peacemaker
  14. I am not alone
  15. I am new and transformed

  6. I am faith-filled
  7. I am joyful
  8. I am protected
  9. I am grateful
  10. I am hopeful

 

Everything YOU, God, said about me. This daily rehearsing of my identity in Christ renews my mind and cultivates the health I need to make wise choices in all aspects of life and living in a way that’s pleasing to you, God.

 

Father God, I take responsibility for my thoughts, I remember my identity in Christ, I take every one of the 30,000 thoughts I’m thinking daily - captive and submit each to the truth of your word, God, I dwell on who I am in Christ:

 

I am God’s masterpiece

Created in God’s own image

Here to glorify God

 

So, God, I dwell daily on “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy” — I think about such things, God (Philippians 4:8)

 

Thank you, God, for the blessing of the Armor that helps me face this Spiritual warfare:

 

  1. The sword of the Spirit
  2. The helmet of salvation
  3. The shield of faith
  4. The shoes of peace
  5. The Breastplate of righteousness
  6. The belt of truth
  7. And Prayer

 

In the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, I pray.
