Armor of God Prayer #7 "The Sword of The Spirit."

Dear God,

 

Thank you for the sword of the Spirit, my weapon that’s both offensive and defensive - the WORD OF GOD.

 

God, the sword of the Spirit is the kind of weapon that both protects AND attacks. It is YOUR, God, utterance, your spoken word, your powerful speech sequence addressed directly to ME and MY life circumstances. I find all the right answers in the Bible.

 

I understand that The Word Of God term has 3 translations:

 

  • Graphe - the word on the page, the ink, the paper, the physical book itself.
  • Logos - the MESSAGE of the graphe, the actual SUBSTANCE opf what is said in the book.
  • and  Rhema - the utterance of God, the spoken, LIVING word of God.

 

Matthew 4:4 says: “Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God”

 

God, your word is dwelling in me because your Spirit lives in me. I know your word. I understand your word. I listen to the Holy Spirit speak to me in every situation.

 

The Sword of the Spirit protects and guides me in the daily battle with Satan, in this Spiritual Warfare, it keeps me focused on Jesus, your will for my life,  and my eternity.

 

Father God,

 

Hebrews 5:12 says “You have been believers for so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God's word.”

 

God, every day I realize that I need YOU to teach me and guide me and lead me.

 

Your living word is my teacher. There’s answer to every life situation. There’s wisdom and plan for my life - all in your word. In The Bible. The Gospel of truth.

 

I live every day in light of eternity and the promised future in heaven with you. This perspective changes HOW I live my daily life. I live my life by your guidance. I ask you for it every day. I don’t rely on my own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). Instead, I pray and listen for answers from your, God, Spirit, who lives in me.

 

My prayer is this:




Lord, I need you every hour, every moment of every day.

I need your guidance, your mercy, hold on to me tight.

I need you to never let go of me as I pray.

I need you to lead me, to renew me, to help me stay humble & kind.

 

Every morning I start with my list of gratitude, God.

Every day I realize my weakness and your strength in it.

Every moment I reach out to you because I never forgot,

That I need you... without you I've already reached my limit.

 

 

Father God, I take responsibility for my thoughts, words, actions, habits, and lifestyle. You speak truth to me about all of the above and you gave me free will to choose to follow and obey your leadership or to walk in my deadly flesh every day and be wordly.

 

You have already overcome the world (John 16:33).

 

I remember my identity in Christ, I remember your 3573 promises, I remember my justification, salvation, and sanctification for future glorification.

 

I take every one of the 30,000 thoughts I’m thinking daily - captive and submit each to the truth of your word, God, I dwell on who I am in Christ.

I dwell daily on “whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy” — I think about such things, God (Philippians 4:8).

 

I am using the Sword of The Spirit to listen to your, God, living word guide my life and help me navigate the daily battles of the spiritual warfare using this powerful weapon in both defensive and offensive ways to protect and to also attack. I am remembering who I am, whose I am, why I’m here, and what the purpose of it all is - to glorify YOU, God.

 

Thank you, God, for the blessing of the Armor that helps me face this Spiritual warfare:

 

  1. The sword of the Spirit
  2. The helmet of salvation
  3. The shield of faith
  4. The shoes of peace
  5. The Breastplate of righteousness
  6. The belt of truth
  7. And Prayer

 

In the name of Jesus, our Lord and Savior, I pray.
