Bakacast
So, RSS feed mergers won't work like I thought they would. Since a merger of two feeds eliminates/overwrites all the tags iTunes needs in order to publish a podcast, I won't be able to use that method. The good news: since I give iTunes the Feedburner URL (instead of the source RSS URL), once I swap feeds everyone currently subscribed to Bakacast will automatically get the new episodes. There will be no effort required on your part to keep up with the new stuff. The bad news: all the old, Libsyn-hosted content will disappear from the iTunes feed. If you ever want to listen to older...
info_outline Episode 322 - Finally Free from Our Orphan PrisonBakacast
Not only does this episode of Bakacast mark the end of the Winter 2017 season, but it also marks the end of me hosting these things on Libsyn. Starting at the next episode, we'll be part of the . I will, however, still be posting shownotes like this on Project Haruhi in addition to Audio Entropy; and assuming an RSS feed merger works like I think it should, there shouldn't be a need to swap RSS subscriptions. Ultimately, this change will save me a whole lot of money each year and (hopefully) bring in more listeners for both Bakacast and the podcasts my friends are doing over at Audio Entropy....
info_outline Episode 321 - Tanya's Consequence-Free PhilosophyBakacast
On this episode, we celebrate Rakugo and Maid Dragon's finales, give Ben and Larry a chance to discuss what they thought about March Comes In Like A Lion, and talk about a change coming to Bakacast in the near future. info_outline Episode 320 - And Now for a Different Kind of DragonBakacast
Why yes, I've recently spent an entire day editing several podcasts. Is it that obvious? Time Index 01:38 - Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans 47 10:23 - Youjo Senki 9 18:10 - Little Witch Academia 10 26:53 - Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu S2 10 31:46 - Miss Kobayashi's Maid Dragon 10 42:46 - Dragon Dentist
info_outline Episode 319 - Infinitely Boring OrphansBakacast
This episode is somehow just under 40 minutes long. No, I have no idea how we managed that either. Time Index 01:41 - Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans 46 07:43 - Little Witch Academia 9 11:19 - Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu S2 9 18:03 - Miss Kobayashi's Maid Dragon 9 25:08 - Youjo Senki 8
info_outline Episode 318 - Akko Must Never Be CoolBakacast
On this shockingly short episode of Bakacast: Gundam tires us out, Little Witch gives us the Sucy episode we've been waiting for, Maid Dragon gets surprisingly emotional, and Youjo Senki continues to be not quite as good as we had hoped. Time Index 01:27 - Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans 45 14:04 - Little Witch Academia 8 21:24 - Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu S2 8 28:49 - Miss Kobayashi's Maid Dragon 8 39:52 - Youjo Senki 7
info_outline Episode 317 - MeloncideBakacast
On this episode of Bakacast, Maid Dragon has its first dud segment, we start to suspect Iron-Blooded Orphans isn't as critical of pedophilia as it should be, and Youjo Senki shows signs of being just another military anime. Time Index 01:29 - Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans 43-44 20:21 - Little Witch Academia 6-7 34:23 - Miss Kobayashi's Maid Dragon 6-7 1:00:35 - Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu S2 6-7 1:10:59 - Youjo Senki 6
info_outline Episode 316 - Mad About SuccubiBakacast
No, I didn't make a typo. I intentionally skipped #315, because I have some of the audio, but Megan's track did not save properly. I might be able to salvage some of it to release at a later date, but until then I just wanted to edit and release the episodes I didn't have to do any editing wizardy for. Thus this episode, where Megan and I rant about the Demi-Chan's portrayal of the succubus character. info_outline Episode 314 - A True Hero ArrivesBakacast
With this episode of Bakacast out the door, I have finally caught up to my recording backlog and can start working on editing some JoJo again. Hooray! This week, some shows improve, others continue to reveal their shortcomings, and some surpass expectations. Also, ACCA leads to the most heated disagreement we've had on Bakacast for a while...which pretty much amounts to me and Ben saying, "Your opinion makes no sense to me," to each other before moving on. That's right, you can always count on us for the compelling drama. Just like you can always count on me to find a way to talk about social...
info_outline Episode 313 - My Eyes Are DyingBakacast
Now that the winter season has begun in earnest, we dig into what it has to offer us. Which is...a mixed bag, honestly. Some good, some dull, some bad. And then there's Hand Shakers, a show that must be watched to truly understand how thoroughly and magnificently terrible it is. I do my best to articulate the sights and sounds one experiences when subjected to Hand Shakers, but human language can only communicate so much. Please, watch Hand Shakers and understand my suffering. Also that Maid Dragon show is a very early contender for surprise of 2017, so that's certainly something. Please email...
info_outlineOn this episode of JJBR, we only have half an episode to give you due to Luke's audio getting corrupted. In a weird way, though, we were lucky Luke had to leave after the first half; otherwise I wouldn't have anything to show for the recording. With what I could salvage, we talk about such things as: sympathizing with Joseph's desire to be pretty, Araki's wide variety of murder styles, and the ethical concerns of having your protagonist admire a Nazi's bravery.
Please note that the [EXPLICIT] tag is not a joke. Assume every episode of JoJo's Bizarre Rewatch contains R-rated language and content.
