This idea has been swirling in my mind a lot lately, especially since I've been noticing how my nine-year-old daughter is dealing with some of the same pressures and self-doubt I once faced. It made me think about my own journey of self-acceptance, which really started to solidify when I was 28. I share my story of a turning point in my life, where I realized that despite what other people thought or advised, I loved who I was and wasn't willing to change.
We dive into how people, even those who care about us, can project their opinions and expectations onto our lives. But the key is deciding what feels true to you and sticking with it. I talk about the times I second-guessed myself, how some people around me made me question my choices, and what it took to say, "You know what? I like me, and that's all that matters."
I hope this episode inspires you to embrace your unique self and live authentically, regardless of the judgments or stereotypes you might face. It's not always easy, but it's so worth it.
