Beyond Westworld

Fidelity is defined as both the degree to which the detail and quality of an original is copied exactly and the state of remaining loyal to someone and keeping promises you made.   On this episode of the Beyond Westworld podcast, C is for cookie not Caleb, even though there are 278, nay 279 versions of him.  Who is cookie you ask? Well none other than Caleb's daughter Frankie who is also host Caleb's core drive. Caleb looks to escape Olympia's headquarters with the help of the past versions of himself in order to transmit a message to Frankie.  Meanwhile C and Bernard work to...

Generation Loss - Westworld Season 4 Ep 4 show art Generation Loss - Westworld Season 4 Ep 4

Beyond Westworld

Generation loss may include the introduction of noise and a loss of acuity. The quality of successive generations generally deteriorates when using an analog process. Although digital reproduction is, in theory, capable of producing successive generations without loss of quality, in practice the copying process may introduce errors. Is Caleb an error?  On this episode of the Beyond Westworld podcast, we explore the revelations that the Caleb we see is not who we thought he was. In fact, he's the 279th (or something) version of who we thought he was. Bernard teams with C for a weapon in...

Beyond Westworld

Années Folles refers to the crazy years in France during the 20s, or the Roaring 20s aka Golden Age in the US. For Westworld, it could be referring to the newly constructed park emulating that timeframe, or it could be referencing the crazy years Bernard has spent inside the Sublime learning all of the possible scenarios that could eradicate the human species. One of those.  On this episode of the Beyond Westworld podcast, we explore the revelation of this ominous fly conspiracy, and what it all means for Caleb and Maeve as they are now in the belly of the beast with no foreseeable...

Crisis Theory Analysis

Welcome to Beyond Westworld, and boy do we have some deletions for you…

Crisis Theory

Viva la Revolution! Humanity is free to make their own choices free of Rehoboam even though those choices will eventually lead to humanity's extinction. So what in the hell did season 3 even accomplish? For starters it confirmed that Bernard carries Arnold's guilt about his wife and son with him and he was finally able to make peace with that. The Man In Black was always a psychopath from birth and because of that the asshole version of himself will always prevail. Maeve is the only one that can say my word is my bond and mean it. Stubs may not be a can opener but he is a bottle opener. Caleb is one of the nice the guys, not the kind that wants to be nice to get something something from you if you catch my drift, but just a classic nice guy. Then there is Dolores, oh Dolores. Finding the beauty in all that splendor, hopefully we will meet again, someday.

But as for the finale, Dolores and Caleb attempt to gain control of Rehoboam at Incite but are stopped short by Maeve. With the human revolution and rioting in full effect we wonder how will humanity survive what comes next. When Caleb's Solomon plan is taken by Maeve at the last second, all seems lost for Dolores Prime and her plan but not before a touching good-bye sequence from Maeve before her last memory is loaded up into Rehoboam, the backdoor access from Solomon. This gives all power to Caleb to execute the Delete All command from Rehoboam including Dolores.

Be sure to answer our park satisfaction questionnaire this week down in the comments. What do you want to happen next in the story for season four? Is Stubs still in the tub? Will Wyatt turn Lawrence back into El Lazo? Is Dolores truly gone? What is the next move for Charred-lores and her Delos resources? But most importantly just what the hell happened too Bernard for all those years? Join us again next season as we discover these questions together Beyond Westworld

About HBO's Westworld

In 1973, celebrated author and filmmaker Michael Crichton released Westworld, his visionary idea of what a theme park could be as human-looking androids fulfilled our every desire. Four decades later, creators Jonathan and Lisa Joy Nolan are taking the concept to the next evolutionary step as Westworld can now be ‘fleshed’ out as a deeper concept that explores the vast array of potential and consequence from such advanced technology. The one-hour drama series is a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the evolution of sin. Set at the intersection of the near future and the reimagined past, it explores a world in which every human appetite can live without limits, no matter how noble or depraved, can be indulged. The cast of the series includes Evan Rachel Wood, Ed Harris, Anthony Hopkins, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, James Marsden, Tessa Thompson, and more.
