Prioritizing self-care when it feels overwhelming to start
Brooke Buckley, MD, MBA, FACS is a board certified General Surgeon and a diplomate in Lifestyle Medicine. She has over a decade in administrative medicine including five years as a Chief Medical Officer. Dr Buckley is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health. She completed her surgical internship and residency in the Cleveland Clinic System. Her BA and MBA were completed at The Johns Hopkins University. Dr Buckley is passionate about physician health and wellness. She is a national speaker on burnout, resilience, and trauma-informed leadership. She is actively engaged with the AMA as Chair of the American Medical Political Action Committee, and the AHA as the Chair of the Committee of Clinical Leadership. Dr Buckley’s administrative career is an outgrowth of her commitment to the physician’s oath to ‘do no harm’. A proven leader, she focuses on process improvement at all levels of care delivery systems in pursuit of healthier, happier medical careers, enhanced personal wellness, with a deep commitment to quality and safety. Dr Buckley is mother to three boys, the younger two are twins.
