Brentview Church

But the Scriptures are not simply a book to get through; they do not merely offer us information to master. Rather, they are a library that leads us to Jesus and forms us in his way of life. In this series, we will begin with core passages that help us encounter Jesus, understand the life he invites us into, and become more like him. These words of comfort, challenge, prayer, hope, love, identity, and renewal have shaped generations of his followers—and they can shape us too. Each week, we will...

The Bible’s story is shaped by two early narratives: creation and exodus. In creation, God makes the world good and creates humans in his image. In the exodus, God reveals his commitment to free people from oppression. But the story also shows how humans misuse their freedom, dehumanizing themselves and others and living in exile from the life God intends. Jesus steps into that story as the true image of God and the one who leads a new exodus. In our new series, The New Exodus, we will see that Jesus shows us a better way to be human and continues to bring freedom, restoration, and new life...

Brentview’s core values aren’t about meeting a standard—they describe the kind of life that grows when Jesus is at the centre. In this series, we’re exploring these values as markers—shared signs of life that take shape as we press into the way of Jesus. Each week, we’ll reflect on how one value shapes our life together and who we are becoming as a community.

info_outlineOn Christmas Eve, we reflect on one of the greatest mysteries of all: God becomes human. In Jesus, God chooses closeness over distance and steps into the ordinary, often messy realities of our world so we discover what it truly means to be human in a new way. The Christmas story shows that God does not remain distant or detached, but lives with us—right where life happens. And in that nearness, God changes us. God with us, in our mess, forms us to become more like Jesus.
