info_outlineAlright welcome everyone to Facebook for hair and makeup artists - part 1 - today was about Facebook, Messenger and Groups. We talked about Public content (the town square) and private content (the living room). What do you think about these changes?
AND what would you love to see more information or training on?
Here's recap:
π Stories and groups are a huge focus (living room content) and will be front and centre on the new Facebook desktop web-based platform (I showed you the screen shot)
π If you are using your personal profile to share and promote your business, you need to migrate this to a proper business page. Your profile is becoming PRIVATE, meaning, no-one but your friends will see your content.
π The future is private but public content still needs a place.
π Messenger has so much going on (we watched a clip from Facebook)
π its rolling out on MAC and PC with its own desktop APP later this year
π you will be able to message across platforms even if your friend is on IG message or WhatsApp
π you can create videos and send to your brides who can create watch parties inside messenger with their bridal parties and you can use this to do things like introduce your products and services - too cool!
π the ability to use appointments/bookings inside of messenger with reminders to your clients (we looked at the Sephora video example)
π Groups are a huge benefit to local businesses
π There are some changes in structure of groups but those who have groups need not to worry - you wonβt notice too much. They are changing the categories and bringing in a βjobsβ group option as well as health groups option
π Groups are a great way to build community. You will find it easy to share public content into your groups. (we talked about video playing a huge roll in groups)
π From facebook βyou may see more content from your groups in the newsfeedβ
π Facebook are testing live sales and purchasing from live sales and videos inside of groups with the use of messenger and WhatsApp but this is a while away as they need to make sure that everything is secure and encrypted.
