Biz Women Rock

In October 2019, I was invited to be the Keynote Presenter at the very first ever She Podcasts Live Conference. I chose to share my own podcasting journey to showcase just how imperfect, meandering and REAL each of our business journeys are.  I share about the beginning of Biz Women Rock and how the podcast I launched back in 2014 gave birth to an entire, robust business for me.  And, how in 2018, when we found out we were pregnant with our second baby, everything changed.

Biz Women Rock

When I saw Jen Mavros’ video announcing she was leaving her old business behind and stepping into a new business, I obviously could relate.  Jen has been helping entrepreneurs manifest soulfully aligned desires and dreams in life and business for 7 years now as a coach and mentor, speaker and leader.  But a few years ago...she began questioning, feeling and ultimately...listening. Which has led her to an entirely new business, the first iteration of which is called Loving Business Forward.

When I think of “podcasting,” I think of Jessica Kupferman.  She’s someone who has experienced the industry is such a variety of ways...as a podcaster herself, as someone who owned a business selling advertising on podcasts and as the leader and co-founder of She Podcasts, a community of over 14,000 women podcasters.

When Ashley Kitchens began working with me as a private client, she only knew one thing: she loved sharing with people about plant-based eating and wanted to reach more people.  She didn’t know what that would look like as a business, but she did have about 5,000 people following her on Instagram.

I’ve been marinating on this topic for a loooong time, my friend.

This conversation is heavily influenced by my friend Cate Stillman’s book Body Thrive (which I highly recommend!).  You can check it out here: https://yogahealer.com/.

This is about more than an email autoresponder series.  This is about managing your energy so you can show up as the best CEO you can be.  I’m talking today about the true power of automating habits and tasks in your business and your life.

Automating habits relinquish your energy from having to worry about certain activities over and over again.  Which then frees up energy for you to do the things you LOVE and that move your business (and your life) forward!

Here are 10 things you can automate:

  1. Cleaning the house - who’s in charge of what chores?
Kendra Hennessey’s Mother Like a Boss podcast is perfect for getting more efficient with how you run your home! http://www.kendrahennessy.com/
  2. Meal Prepping - spend 1-2 days each week making your food for the week
Check out my client Ashley Kitchen’s Instagram for tons of meal prep ideas and resources.  She even has a free 5 Day Meal Planning guide. https://www.instagram.com/stories/plantcenteredprep/
  3. Time blocking - so you know what you’re going to be working on on any given day/time in advance.  If you can, try and automate this as a weekly thing. Example: every Monday from 10-12, you’re going to be writing.
  4. Exercise - know when you’re going to do it in advance.  Know exactly what workout you’re going to do or have a program that you’re following.
  5. Childcare - get your reliable childcare set up!  And think about using a babysitting service instead of a single babysitter...that way you’re covered no matter what.
  6. Batch your content - podcast episodes, blog posts, social media posts, etc.
  7. Automate emails - create nurture sequences and write emails in batches
  8. Repurpose content - create a brilliant piece of content once and put it everywhere else in various forms
  9. Choose your clothes in advance for the week - don’t spend any energy figuring out what you’ll be wearing every day
  10. Create products and services that people can buy on your website - if you’re a service provider and your time is how you make money, place a small way for you to get paid on your site.  If you have products, make them available for purchase on your site and as many other places as possible.

I hope these have been helpful!  Share how you’ve been automating habits and tasks in your life in our Facebook Group! http://bizwomenrock.com/group
