info_outlineMy guest this week transferred to Illinois Tech her sophomore year in college, pursuing an ITM and Cybersecurity degree, graduating in 2021 with both degrees in hand. Impressive, don’t you think?
Initially when she came to IIT, she tells me she was tuned out, though having fun, and didn’t take advantage of all the opportunities on campus.
Early on, she wisely joined the Women in Cybersecurity organization on campus, then eventually became the president.
Through her professors and mentorships at Illinois Tech, school org involvement and random events and connections, she did many things right.
Attending events and conferences, while networking with leaders of big companies, contributed to her “let’s see what happens” attitude.
When considering what she’d do differently, she wishes she would have taken more time to meet other students and professors as soon as she arrived at Illinois Tech.
Harshini encourages all of us, students and grads, to lean on AND learn from other people!

She works closely with IT and Cybersecurity executives to implement enterprise-wide solutions for their organizations’ most complex challenges.
