After an invitation in 1964 from Dick Trickle to visit Griffith Park Speedway, Pat Barrett caught the racing bug at 3 years old. His enjoyment for racing grew into attending races all over Wisconsin through his childhood years and eventually going to races with Dick Trickle as a crew member. Pat's time working at the racetrack began after taking a scoring job while in high school. The dedication and commitment to flagging began in 1992 after former Golden Sands Speedway owner Darrel Bassuener placed an ad in the paper looking for a flagman.
