The scriptures teach us that God speaks to us in our own language, according to our own understanding. I think that when we understand the significance that God speaks so individually to us, according to how we will best understand and hear him, it can help us see how personal and intimate our relationship with God can be. God knows you that perfectly. God speaks your language. In this episode, I share how I have come to better hear how God speaks to me through prayer journaling. This was originally recorded as a bonus class in the 40-day Journey with Christ meditation...

“Charity is the principal characteristic of a true follower of Jesus Christ. Charity defines a peacemaker. When we humble ourselves before God and pray with all the energy of our hearts, God will grant us charity.” (President Russell M. Nelson) Join me with Laura and Joanna as we talk about being peacemakers through seeing others deeply, listening and communicating with love, and share examples of those who have created peace in hard situations.

Join me in this episode as we talk about the powerful ability women have to create peace and that we receive the grace to do so from our Maker. "Charity, or the pure love of Christ, is motherhood in a very practical and real way...My mother-work will come directly through the whispers of the Holy Spirit. And it is no less real for being unrelated by blood and bone.” (Sharon Eubank) This “mother work” as Sharon put it, and as we saw in the example of Deborah, is bearing with others and nurturing them in God. It’s being yourself and holding up your unique light with courage, it’s...
info_outlineBeing desperate can actually be a really good thing. When we are desperate, we work harder and do more to be guided by heaven.
In this episode, we'll explore the experience of Hannah in 1 Samuel. We'll see how she dealt with the sorrow of unmet expectations and how her desperation brought both an internal and external transformation.
"Hannah came to realize that no one could fill the emptiness in her life, but the savior... it became an important catalyst that led Hannah to discover the Lord's teachings for her. Through his compassionate acceptance and limitless strength. God helped this Israelite woman recognize that she could contribute to the Lord's work and have a fruitful life." (Women of the Old Testament, Camille Fronk Olsen)
Together we'll see how we can find pieces of our own story and our own encounters with Christ through the experience of Hannah. Our challenges have great purpose and when we give them and our commitment to the Lord, he can make something of us much greater than we could ever imagine.
I invite you to consider how your own challenging circumstances can draw you closer to God to experience your own change of heart, of vision, and who you're born to be.
