"LOOKING FOR ANOTHER" BY BRITTANY ALLEN

A Blessing From Sharon Pink

Bravery does not always dissolve fear, and this, dear ones, is a brave conversation. To hear Jeffrey’s story is to witness the radical and magical acts of a queer, Black man getting free. And truly we know that feeling free and being free is worth the energy, as well as deserved. We also know that we cannot get free alone because as Audre Lorde taught us, “Without community, there is no liberation”, so may we all listen with the intention of connection, love and liberation.

All violence streams from white supremacy. White folks, may we continually re-commit to doing the work of undoing white-supremacy in all its forms. So, as and after you listen, I invite you to hold up a mirror, and ask, what are the ways that I perpetuate white supremacy? What am I doing to change this? And yes, white queers, “Your queerness does not absolve your racism”, (Ericka Hart). This is our work.

Black, Indigenous and all People of Color, may you feel seen, heard and freely breathe in the points of connection offered here. May this podcast be a spell of safety, love and justice that centers and honors queer, Black folks in both bravery and joy, and all things in between
