Mr. Joseph Hippensteel is the founder of Ultimate Human Performance, Inc., a company that teaches advanced mental and physical/ functional training methods including flexibility/ Ranges of Motion to an exact standard. He is also a (CTR) with US Naval Special Warfare where he works on Navy SEALs in Coronado, CA. His Company, UHP, Inc. is supported financially by the Navy SEAL Foundation to supplement the NSW Physical Therapy, strength and conditioning, and medical program to help reduce injuries and integrate physical training programs.
While attending California State University, Fresno, he achieved all American status (top 8 Americans) in the Decathlon, Track and Field, NCAA Division 1, and was awarded the “Scholar Athlete Award” at CSUF in his senior year.
As a collegiate athlete and for over 20 additional years while attempting to qualify to make the USA Olympic team, competing in the decathlon, Mr. Hippensteel sustained innumerable injuries, many of which typically would require surgery. Instead, through trial and error, he pioneered a protocol that allowed him to train pain and injury free at an intense level for many more years.
This fully developed protocol of improving freedom of movement to improve athletic performance/ functional activities and reduce the risk of injury is now used by athletes and patients of all ages and capabilities. Freedom of movement, flexibility to an exact standard, is one of the most important facts to a pain free, active lifestyle. Through 30 years of experiences and training, Mr. Hippensteel has used this program as a highly successful approach for the evaluation and treatment of tight muscles and stiff joins and many other musculo-skeletal medical conditions to reduce pain and improve everyday function and athletic ability. He has treated over 10,000 athletes and clients.
Mr. Hippensteel has been a Physio/ Kinesiology Expert Level practitioner for over 20 years. He has worked with professional athletes in track and field, football, baseball, golf and many other sports. He has worked with Nike and has coached at the Olympic Training Center for track and field in Chula Vista, CA and several other Universities as an assistant coach. He also has achieved a Hypnotherapist Certification by the National Guild of Hypnotists and a Master Hypnotist Certification by the New York Institute of Hypnosis.
