info_outline390 - Tribute to Victims and Survivors of Trauma, with host Martha Pineno
This episode is a musical tribute featuring "Crystal Clouds" composed to commemorate victims and survivors of September 11th, 2011. Moved and inspired by the creativity of artists who presented sculptures and architectural plans for a memorial building in the year following the attack. Creative concepts depicted light as it reflected up from the twin towers to represent ascending souls of the lives lost.
The beginning intervals reflect the deep pain. Solo flute cries out with quiet sorrow. Cello lays the ground for reflection for the haunting oboe melody that implores comfort and compassion. The melodies move upward in fragments of the theme with intensity continuing throughout till there is a resolve for hope and healing.
