Paladin 'Gun For Hire' lived in & worked out of the Carleton Hotel, in 1875 San Francisco. Plummer became a sheriff, his deputies were his hired killers, and Plummer wasn't suspected when he joined the vigilante committees, where he got the names of the men who were trying to bring law and order to that area.
