The Georgetown Library Is Back: Restored Library Reopens
Release Date: 11/23/2010
The Georgetown Neighborhood Library reopened in October, nearly three and a half years after a devastating fire. The library’s original blueprints were adapted to support modern library services such as public-access computers and outlets to plug in laptop computers. In addition, new spaces were created for children in the lower level and for the historic Peabody collection in the roof. Other modern improvements include better lighting and an outdoor reading terrace.
