The work that I do on this podcast isn't for the faint of heart.
info_outlineLosing my Dad was a shock.
It was by far the greatest tragedy that I've experienced in my life.
A day or two after his passing, I was in the car with my wife and kids when my son yelled from the backseat "Dad, can you play 'Joy?'"
"Joy" is my son's favorite song from a playlist that we access nearly every time we leave the house. It's a contemporary Christian song by For King & Country.
We have spent countless days singing and dancing in the car to "Joy"...
But on that day, with a heavy heart, I paused before answering and granting his request.
I felt like riding in silence.
How could I play a song like that now?
Well, I realized I had the opportunity to choose. And I recognized that my father would desire that I choose joy for my family and not despair.
After all, there was a great victory in Christ worth celebrating.
"Sure buddy, we can listen to 'Joy'."
By the power of the Holy Spirit, we can CLAIM JOY in any season.
