The cult film in question is Even the Wind is Afraid (Hasta el viento tiene miedo) from writer/director Carlos Enrique Taboada, who is also the writer/director for another Classic Era episode, The Book of Stone (1969, El libro de piedra). The Classic Era Grue-Crew also recognized cast members from another of their episodes, Macario (1960). When Even the Wind is Afraid was released in 1968, it revitalized the Mexican horror genre.
