The song begins with the classic intro riff in the key of F Minor and utilizes the F Minor Pentatonic Scale {R, b3, p4, p5, b7} before modulating down to the key of C Minor. The remainder of the song's riffs utilize elements from the C Blues Scale {R, b3, p4, b5, p5, b7}.
