I this episode, I sit down with Violet Page (or Sug as we affectionately call her in my home town). Violet walks us through the impact of watching her paternal aunt go through breast cancer in her early 30's, and her own journey--younger than most doctors wanted to treat her seriously-- to advocate for early scans and prophylactic surguries. I was struck by Violet's deep sense of knowing at such a young age, and her strength to push for the risk reducing interventions she wanted for herself.
