Endless Endeavor with Greg Anderson
In Episode 290, I sit down with Tyler Stanaway and Scott Stilwell, and we take the podcast in a pretty unusual direction. We brought a bunch of random instruments into the studio and just let whatever happened happen. There was no planning and no rehearsal—as you’ll probably be able to tell—but that’s not the point. The point was simply to sit down and make some music with friends. Please enjoy Episode 290 of The Endless Endeavor Podcast. In Episode 288, I sit down with Jenn Hinton. Jenn and I first met when we hired her as our dog trainer, and over the years that professional relationship turned into a real friendship. She trains both my Jack Russells and my Malinois, and she’s exceptional at what she does. Recently, my Malinois was struggling with some behavioral issues, so Jenn came down for in-home training, and we were able to record an episode as well! This episode goes well beyond dog training. We talk about life, relationships, leadership, entrepreneurship, and Jenn’s experience evacuating her dog...

In Episode 287 I sit down with Scott Stilwell. Scott is one of my first black belts and we’ve been training jiu jitsu together for 15 years. He’s a husband, father, musician and just overall an awesome human being! Today we take a deep dive into jiu jitsu etiquette and customs and what we believe is rooted in preserving culture versus what is rooted in ego! I think building a strong culture is the foundation of any Academy and visiting these topics is important. Please enjoy episode 287 of the Endless Endeavor Podcast. In Episode 285, I sit down with father–son jiu-jitsu black belts Jeff and Aaron Tiegs. It’s wild how small the world is—Aaron and I first connected through jiu-jitsu, and I’ve had him up to train my athletes a couple of times because he’s an exceptional grappler and instructor. Last week, when he came up to teach, he brought his father Jeff with him. Jeff and I quickly realized we were Rangers together back in 2000 at Alpha Company, 2/75. I was a private and he was the company Executive Officer. Obviously, with that rank gap, we didn’t forge a friendship back then, but he was an...

In Episode 284, I sit down with Dave Kelman. Dave and I first connected when he attended my Guns & Gis course last summer — but the story behind that connection is what makes this episode truly powerful. He came to the course to honor my fallen brother, Seth Farwell. Dave is now married to Seth’s widow and is raising Seth’s son, and wanting to understand the man whose footsteps he is helping guide, he sought out the people who knew Seth best. That level of humility, respect, and intention is rare. And through that shared loss, we formed a bond that led to a deep and meaningful...

In Episode 283, I sit down with Valerie Masai-Aspaas. Valerie was recently promoted to black belt under me at Electric North Jiu Jitsu, and I’m excited to bring her journey to The Endless Endeavor. I’ve always been fascinated by women who choose to pursue combat arts and jiu-jitsu—it’s a demanding path, and they’re often facing opponents who are bigger and stronger. Valerie has brought nothing but good energy, hard training, and solid coaching to our team. Off the mats, she’s a leader and a patriot. We take a deep dive into her story, including why she walked away from public...

In Episode 282, I sit down with Chris Vasil and Bilal Hasan — two local professional fighters out of Charlie’s Combat Club here in Everett, WA, who also cross-train at my jiu-jitsu academy. When I was younger, I trained for many years with their head coach, Charlie Pearson, and our gyms have always shared a great relationship. We had a really fun conversation diving deep into each of their journeys in the world of professional MMA. As you can imagine, pro fighters tend to be fun, wild dudes — and this episode definitely reflects that energy! We talked about their training, mindset, and...

In Episode 281, I sit down once again with my long-time Ranger brother, Tobin Foulke. Tobin and I grew up together inside the Ranger Regiment, and few people have shared more of life’s highs and lows with me than he has. In this conversation, we take a deep dive into what it meant to come of age in that environment — through deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan, the culture of that era, and the lessons those years carved into us. We reflect on how those experiences shaped the men we’ve become today — men who value sovereignty, capability, and freedom above all else, and who strive to be...
info_outlineEpisode 267 of the Endless Endeavor Podcast features an eye-opening conversation with Luis and Isabella as they share their story of escaping communist Venezuela. Stories like theirs are critical reminders that while America has its flaws, we are still incredibly fortunate to live in a country where we can speak out, push back, and stand up to our government without fear of being executed for it.
Luis and Isabella walk us through how their rights were stripped away step by step—starting with gun control, followed by media censorship, and eventually giving way to a brutal dictatorship that kills citizens for simply holding protest signs. Both have lost friends to the regime. Faced with the threat of violence and oppression, they made the courageous decision to flee and start a new life in the United States.
Thankfully, their path led them to jiu-jitsu, which sparked a whole different kind of transformation—and added a great layer to our conversation.
I’m incredibly grateful to Luis and Isabella for sharing their truth.
