info_outlineJennifer Bogard is a Life Coach. She works with women who've experienced divorce mid-life. Jennifer helps them to stop living at the mercy of their emotions and emotional triggers so they can move forward to create a new life that they are proud of. No more survival mode or automatic default.
Jennifer became a certified life coach through The Life Coach School following the finalization of her own divorce in 2018. After a successful 15 year career in Human Resources her plan was to do Leadership Coaching - she NEVER wanted to become a poster child for divorce - but, God had other plans. She began to feel the nudge in this direction and now I cannot imagine doing anything else.
Keep in mind in this episode Jennifer's belief that there is no such thing as a broken home. "So often I hear from my clients that they 'never wanted their kids to have a broken home'. I don't believe there are broken homes. There are only broken people. People can be healed and made whole."
We also talked about thriving through divorce and stepping into future you now!
When we are struggling so profoundly after divorce our children see us. They also feel the loss and the pain of divorce. Their world has been rocked too.
It's critical to understand that you can't give your children what you don't have. You must take your own healing seriously - and time is not a healer. Healing is an active process.
When a mom learns to manage her own mind and emotions, takes back her power and stops seeing herself as a victim, rebuilds her life on a foundation of self-love and self-worth, and casts a new vision for her life and family ---- THESE are the most valuable things she can provide for her children.
Divorced families are nearly 50% - this is a HUGE issue. When we see our homes as broken then we will live that out. We will see our families as less than and disadvantaged. When we see our family in that light so will our children.
Divorced families, and single parents have a strong ability and need to be intentional about the family culture they are creating. It starts with healing, and claiming that power.
