In 2013, an Australian teenager posted this picture and a story online that his "Foot Long" sandwich from Subway wasn't actually 12" long.
So having a curiosity about such things (and the fact that we were hungry) we jumped into action!
We spoke with noted Tampa Bay attorney Joseph F, Pippen (himself a foot long customer) about a possible class-action lawsuit against Subway. On the way to the radio station for the broadcast, we stopped at a local Subway restaurant and purchased a sub to measure it for ourselves.
OUR VERDICT
The sandwich we purchased measured 11 1/4".
Subway agreed that the length of the sandwiches should be the same as advertised and settled with the 10 original plaintiffs. That prompted an appeal.
So where do we stand today in 2021?
We'll have to stop for a sandwich for a proper follow up.
