He’s a 2016 Premiership Player with the Western Bulldogs. He joined St Kilda as an unrestricted free agent in 2022. In 2025, he was delisted by the Saints and subsequently announced his retirement.

Piper was selected by Port Adelaide with Pick 19 in the 2023 AFLW draft. She played every game in her debut season. Piper has played 16 AFLW games and kicked 2 goals.

In 1985, he finished runner-up in the Brownlow Medal. Justin also had a career in politics for 15-years from 1999 to 2014.
