In Mark 5:25-34, the story of Jairus’ daughter’s healing is interrupted by a woman suffering from chronic bleeding. Through her interruption, we see what happens when nothing we do can stop our suffering. The answer is not found in ourselves, but in coming to the end of ourselves and placing our faith in the One who can truly heal what is broken. Key Verses: Mark 5:25-34

In Mark 5, we meet a man named Jairus. He is a leader of the local synagogue desperate to save his young daughter, who is dying. Jesus meets the man’s desperation with compassion by agreeing to go with Jairus. What transpires reveals three gifts that Jesus’ presence offers to us. It also highlights Jesus’ power over death.
