Debra L. Butterfield is passionate about helping writers get published and to become better writers. She found a Facebook group online that helped her learn some of the ins and outs of the publishing world, and now she wants to pay it forward and help other writers learn the things that she has learned. Debra's husband was sexually abusing her daughter. She had a new job, a new marriage, and a new baby. Her husband was taken to jail and her son torched the house. Debra worked at Focus on the Family and they helped her to heal. After her husband was released from jail, Debra forgave him. She also forgave her daughter who had lashed out at her and blamed her more for the problem than her stepdad. She had no contact with

[00:00:25] - Debra is passionate about helping writers get published and to become better writers. She found a Facebook group online that helped her learn some of the ins and outs. She wants to pay it forward and help other writers learn the things that she has learned.

[00:01:33] - Debra's husband was sexually abusing her daughter. She had a new job, a new marriage, and a new baby. Her husband was taken to jail and her son torched the house. Frida worked at Focus on the Family and they helped her to heal.

[00:07:54] - There was a time when she was a stay-at-home mom, and she didn't journal or do anything to work through some of the issues that she was dealing with. She didn't come to focus on a family until three years after it all started. Several women from the church were supportive for the most part.

[00:09:43] - After her husband was released from jail. She forgave him. She also forgave her daughter who had lashed out at her and blamed her more for the problem than her stepdad. She had no contact with her husband for 4 years after he was released.

[00:13:08] - Debra is a writer and an editor. She wanted to be a writer for many years but couldn't find a job. She took a job at Focus on the Family and wrote her first book in 2006. In 2015, she revised it and re-titled it.
